The Portugal Qipao Dress is a handmade mini dress created from Portugal graphic T-shirts used as the fabric for the design.

Inspired by the traditional qipao, the dress features a fitted silhouette, Mandarin-style collar, contrasting red trim, frog-button closures, and a side slit. The sporty graphic gives the classic shape a modern, unexpected edge while still honoring the details that make the qipao so recognizable.

I have always loved the history of the qipao and what it represents for women. As the silhouette evolved, it became connected to changing ideas around femininity, independence, personal expression, and freedom. That history is what inspired me to reinterpret the shape through my own design perspective.

The result is a dress that feels feminine, bold, nostalgic, and completely current.

Each Portugal Qipao Dress is cut and sewn by hand in limited quantities. Because the T-shirts are used as the fabric, graphic placement may vary slightly from dress to dress.
